When passion, innovation, and community come together under the Canarian sun
Set on the breathtaking island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands (Spain), the FPV World Cup 2023 brought together some of the world’s most talented drone pilots for a weekend of speed, skill, and creativity.
Organized by Denis Galice and the Aligadron Tenerife Club, this world-class event gathered racers from over ten different countries, united by a shared passion for flight and innovation — all in one of the most spectacular landscapes imaginable.
Torvol, proud partner of the FPV World Cup
As an official partner and sponsor, Torvol once again demonstrated its deep commitment to the FPV community.
Our gear supported pilots throughout the competition — from travel and setup to pitstops and race prep — helping them keep their equipment safe, organized, and ready to fly.
At Torvol, we design with a clear mission: to create smart, durable, and functional gear built by and for FPV pilots.
Field insights: where design meets performance
Representing Torvol on-site, Noa Glenereau, our Designer and Product Manager, joined the event to connect directly with pilots, observe our gear in action, and gather valuable feedback.
“Being there in person allowed me to not only meet experienced racers but also to introduce the Torvol brand to many new pilots — some of them just starting in FPV, yet already incredibly skilled,” explains Noa.
Throughout the event, Noa organized live demonstrations of our backpacks, accessories, and product features, showing how each detail is designed to meet the unique demands of FPV pilots — from efficient organization to field-ready durability.
These direct interactions are at the heart of Torvol’s design process: real-world experience shaping real-world performance.
A standout detail: the LiPO Safe Bag
One remarkable observation from the field was the presence of our Torvol LiPO Safe Bags — fire-resistant up to 650°C — among nearly every pilot’s gear setup.
These pouches have become an essential part of FPV safety, protecting batteries during transport and charging while offering peace of mind for racers traveling long distances.
“It was great to see how many pilots already rely on our LiPO pouches. It’s proof that safety and trust are core to how people see Torvol,” adds Noa.
Discovering Tenerife and sharing the FPV spirit
Beyond the race track, the Tenerife FPV World Cup offered moments of discovery and camaraderie.
From the volcanic slopes of Mount Teide to the colorful coastal towns, pilots explored the island’s stunning scenery between flights, capturing its beauty through their lenses and drones alike.
Evenings often turned into lively gatherings, with pilots from Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, South Korea, and more sharing stories, laughter, and flight experiences.
“That’s what FPV is really about,” says Noa. “Competition on the track, but genuine connection off it. In Tenerife, we shared as many ideas and smiles as we did laps in the air.”
🎙️ Q&A – Pilots talk about FPV life and Torvol gear
Q: Why do you use a Torvol bag for FPV?
A: Because it’s made for real pilots. I can carry several drones, batteries, and tools while keeping everything safe and organized. It’s like having a workshop on your back.
Q: What makes an FPV backpack different from a camera bag?
A: FPV gear is more fragile and modular. You need compartments that adapt to your setup, resist dust and heat, and give you quick access. Torvol bags nail all of that.
Q: How does Torvol use FPV events like Tenerife to improve its gear?
A: These events are the best testing grounds. We observe how pilots use the bags in real conditions, take their feedback seriously, and bring those ideas straight into our next designs.
Q: What would you tell someone who’s just starting in FPV?
A: Stay organized! A reliable bag protects your gear and helps you focus on flying. The more time you save searching for parts, the more you spend in the air.
🌍 A united, passionate community
The FPV World Cup Tenerife 2023 wasn’t just a race — it was a celebration of creativity, talent, and community spirit.
Torvol is proud to have supported this event and to stand alongside the pilots who push the limits of FPV every single day.
Because at Torvol, every bag is built to go further, fly higher, and connect stronger.
